A brief summary of our activities is provided below.
Location and activities
We are the largest traditional housing association operating in Gloucestershire and have our head office in the centre of Gloucester city. 67% of our homes are situated within Gloucester, Cheltenham and Tewkesbury although we operate across eleven local authority areas.. Our other homes are scattered throughout Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, with small pockets of stock further afield in Stratford upon Avon and Milton Keynes. We do not hold our own waiting list for rented homes, instead working in partnership with local authorities using a combination of nomination arrangements and choice based lettings schemes.
In total we own and manage around 3,350 homes. These are primarily rented general needs accommodation but we also own shared ownership homes, private sector leased homes and supported housing for people with a wide range of support needs, and our sheltered housing scheme designed for older people who live locally.
We provide a range of other services for residents and their communities beyond our landlord role. These include debt advice, parental support, community development services (including providing grant funding), research and development, affordable loans, family intervention, and youth work.
Resident involvement and customer feedback
We really value the contribution that residents can make to the business. Since becoming members of the Guinness Partnership, we have adopted their resident involvement strategy, and are writing a local action plan with residents that supports this. We carry out an annual impact assessment of the previous year’s activities. There is a developing resident involvement structure, and a range of mechanisms for residents to be involved.
